LD Line Ferries to Rosslare,Boulogne and Le Havre

LD Lines provide a cost-effective, frequent and reliable cross-channel ferry service, with ferries to Boulogne and Le Havre in France, and Dover, Newhaven and Portsmouth in England, with prices starting from just £9 for foot passengers.

LD Lines , a subsidiary of Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, started running the Portsmouth to Le Havre ferry route in October 2005. In December 2006 LD Lines were awarded the contract to operate Transmanche Ferries' Newhaven to Dieppe service and, until recently, also ran a service between Newhaven and Le Havre. In addition to this, LD Lines are now offering a service between Rosslare (Ireland) and Le Havre (France), along with a new routes from Dover to Boulogne.
LD Lines operates two crossings per day during the week from Portsmouth to Le Havre. Further details can be found in the schedule information to the right. From November 2009 the Côte d'Albâtre will offer 1 daily return crossing, and in 2010 there will be a 6 month seasonal service from Easter to September, with the Norman Arrow providing a new high-speed service, reducing journey times to 3 hours 15 minutes.
LD Lines provides up to 6 sailings per day along the highly popular route between Dover and Boulogne with a choice of standard ferry crossings or the new fast craft service. The high speed catamaran Norman Arrow can reach Boulogne in approximately 1 hour. In November 2009 the Norman Spirit will take over the route, offering 4 return crossings a day and a jounrey time of 1 hour 45 minutes and improved capacity.
LD Lines also offer a service between Rosslare and Cherbourg with 3 sailings each way a week, and an average sailing time of 17 hours. This service is operated by Celtic Link Ferries and replaced the previous Rosslare to Le Havre service in September 2009. LD Lines sister company, Transmanche Ferries, offers up to 3 sailings per day from Newhaven to Dieppe, with an average sailing time of 4 hours.
LD Lines Fleet and Onboard Facilities
Whilst onboard LD Lines vessel you can enjoy a variety of bars and restaurants including the business lounge which is equipped with a full wireless internet facility or you can relax in your own private cabin or experience the new low cost reclining seats. The LD Lines Norman Spirit also offers a children's play area, shopping facilities and an amusement arcade.
LD Lines offer a wide range of cabin and seating options, including the fully reclining LD Sleeper Seats and cabins specially adapted for wheelchair users.
A recent addition to the LD Lines fleet, the Norman Voyager, provides all the modern onboard facilities, such as a restuarant, cinema, bars, wi-fi, along with well furnished, cosy accommodation. The Norman Voyager is used by Celtic Link on the Cherbourg to Rosslare service.The brand new 112 metre catamaran, the Norman Arrow which offers quick connections between Dover and Boulogne, is the first ever freight carrying high-speed ferry to traverse the Dover Straits and has the latest in onboard facilities.
